There was a time when the only way to get famous was to rise up the ranks in the entertainment industry. Whether your talent was acting or singing, you had to make it in Hollywood to become a celebrity. You couldn’t just strike out on your own and make your own movie or record your own album. Well, you could — but the chance that many people would see it was really small.

Today, it’s an entirely different world, thanks to YouTube. Regular people have become millionaires and celebrities in their own right, just from uploading some videos. From beauty gurus who craft insane looks on camera, to vloggers that share glimpses of their everyday life, there are a ton of people just making a living on YouTube nowadays. There are countless channels on the platform, each with a different focus and approach.

However, what happens when those two worlds collide? There’s no denying that most YouTubers start out as regular people looking to start a new opportunity for themselves. There are a few, though, who are famous already, even before building an audience on YouTube. That’s because they’re celebrities who gained notoriety from their time in the entertainment industry. The only thing that surprises us about Kylie Jenner’s YouTube channel is the fact that she didn’t launch it sooner. After all, she’s more than comfortable in front of the camera. She’s been constantly filmed for her family’s reality show since she was a little kid.

Given that the world is utterly obsessed with learning everything about her, it was wise to create a channel of her own. Why give someone else the inside scoop when you could share it with your fans yourself? She also, of course, shares make-up tutorials and selfie secrets, because she definitely has expertise in both those fields. She’s definitely a savvy businesswoman!

Wilson is actually the co-founder of a company called SoulPancake, which puts together different kind of content for YouTube, including documentary-style short films. The channel is all about celebrating creativity and humanity, and it just shows what an incredible guy Wilson is. Although, we certainly wouldn’t be upset if he decided to create another channel where he was a bit more prominent. We have a feeling fans of his zany character Dwight on The Office would agree!
