Hollywood can be an incredibly tough place for any relationship to thrive. First of all, relationships are complicated in any scenario, even between two regular people. When you add a celebrity status into the mix, it gets even worse. Tabloids start speculating about celebrities’ relationships from the moment they go on their very first date. Celebrities have to be really strategic about finding secret ways to spend time together unless they want every date documented by the paparazzi. It’s no wonder that so many relationships end and marriage don’t last.

Of course, there are a few exceptions to the rule. While there are plenty of celebrities who just can’t seem to make a relationship last, there are others who have managed to nurture a strong bond, even in crazy Hollywood. Year after year, they’ve remained with their partner — and they still seem as crazy in love as when they first started dating.

It just goes to show that, even somewhere like Hollywood, true love really does conquer all. Obviously, these celebrities have been captured by the paparazzi a time or two. They’ve walked the red carpet together and been asked prying questions about their relationship and the state of it. Through it all, though, they simply leaned on one another and managed to get through it and keep their relationship strong.

Now, it seems like the couples on this list are pretty much untouchable. They’ve been together for so long we really can’t imagine them separately — or with anyone else.

Here are 15 Hollywood couples who have been together for what seems like forever.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson met the same way countless celebrity couples meet — on set. They were both on the set of Bosom Buddies when they ran into each other, and ended up deciding to go on a date not long after that. In 1988, they made the relationship official and began stepping out on red carpets together.

Eventually, they ended up getting engaged and then married. The two have been together ever since, which means they’ve officially been together for just over 30 years now. That’s incredible!

They keep most of their relationship private, but they’re definitely not afraid to walk the red carpet together. They’ve certainly built something that lasts.

Sarah Jessica Parker is known for her role as single girl Carrie Bradshaw on her hit show Sex and the City. Bradshaw was constantly going on first dates with new guys and starting relationships that just didn’t last. Parker’s experience in real life was a whole lot different.

In her younger years, yes, she dated quite a few famous men, including John F. Kennedy Jr. and Robert Downey Jr. However, when she met fellow actor Matthew Broderick, the rest was history. The two met in 1991, began dating, and eventually married in 1997. They’ve been together ever since, and recently celebrated over 20 years of marriage together.

Many celebrities who are together for a long time end up getting married eventually. After all, they know they’re committed to one another — why not celebrate by becoming officially husband and wife?

Well, Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have a bit of a different take on the whole marriage thing. They’ve simply never seen a need to take that step to become man and wife when they know they’re committed to each other anyway. And, they’ve got a point — the two started dating way back in 1983. That means they’ve been together for over 35 years now. That’s insane!

Even if they never walk down the aisle, we have a feeling these two will be together forever.

Okay, when you hear Denzel and Pauletta Washington’s story, you’ll appreciate the level of confidence she brings to the relationship. Back when they started dating in 1977, Denzel wasn’t quite the huge star he was now. They were both just actors trying to make it happen in the entertainment industry.

You might think that Pauletta jumped at the chance to become Mrs. Denzel Washington, but that’s not how it played out. Apparently, Denzel had to propose quite a few times over the years before she finally agreed to marry him in 1983. The two became man and wife, Pauletta took Denzel’s last name, and they became one of Hollywood’s power couples.

If you count from when they started dating, they’ve been together for over 40 years now!

Given what a huge movie star she is, you would assume that the tabloids would constantly be speculating about Meryl Streep. However, throughout her career, not much has ever been said about her romantic relationships. And no, it’s not because she’s such a legend that the tabloids gave her the courtesy of privacy. It’s simply because she’s been happily married to the same man since 1978.

Streep met Don Gummer back in 1978. Gummer was an artist and really had nothing to do with the entertainment industry — which was perfect for Streep. The two fell in love, got married the same year they met, and have been happily married for over 40 years now.

We have to imagine it must be really nice to have a partner who isn’t in your crazy industry. They’ve both incredibly creative and understand one another’s occupations, but aren’t mixed up in the same crazy world. Obviously, it works for them!
